Michael Huffaker, interim executive director, 25+ years of sobriety
After completing the recovery program in 1998, Mike also stayed on as an employee. He has held positions of increasing importance while pursuing an academic path in the field of Substance Use Disorder Treatment. In 2004 Mike was named the Operations Manager at the Freedom Ranch and was responsible for the Ranch’s management team and all daily operations. However, Mike’s passion has always been helping individuals find and maintain sobriety, in his new role as Program Director he has found the opportunities to do just that by guiding and building the Clinical aspects of the facility. Mike is both Certified Alcohol & Drug Counselor II (CADC-II) and an Internationally Certified Alcohol & Drug Counselor (ICADC).
Kyle Jordan, Director of Operations, 5+ years of sobriety
After completing the program in 2018, Kyle stayed at the facility working in the Kitchen. Kyle’s eagerness to stay sober turned into a desire to help others. He began improving his education and knowledge of Substance Use Disorders to provide the highest level of care and improve outcomes for those in need. He is currently a Registered Alcohol and Drug Technician working towards his Certification in the field and holds an Associates degree in Accounting. Kyle has advanced through multiple positions with the company elevating from cooking meals for clients, to answering the calls of those still suffering, and as a Case Manager helping clients meet the many needs that arise during the treatment process. His many skills and abilities propelled him to the position of Director of Operations where he manages the daily operations of the San Diego Freedom Ranch.
